E's 8 and 9 Month Favorites

I decided to change over my previous blog to this blog. You can still find me over at twodaisiesandanelephant.blogspot.com. However, most of my blog posts from there will be transferred over to this one. So, at times you may see the "twodaisiesandanelephant" logo going across many of the photos. No worries, it is me. I promise.

I honestly don't have any 8 month favorites for Baby E. Unless you count the pool and her pool toys. Those have been by far her favorite things.

We're crawling around and attempting to walk so you know everything is now awesome! Between the tables to the chairs, the DVDs, dog toys, and even the dog bowls. Oh yeah, we found the dog bowls.

Ahh! I cannot believe in just a few short months Baby E will be a year old. The time has flown by so quickly. We haven't really bought any toys, because E seems to be more entertained by everything around us. She'd rather sit outside and play with the sticks/leaves/grass/acorns as well as throw things rather than play with actual toys. She's just a very curious little girl.

Although she's not big on a lot of toys. We do have a few new ones that she seems to enjoy.

She also has a set of Disney keys that she loves to play with while we're driving down the road and as she plays in her walker. However, she also takes the toys above and just moves around like there's no tomorrow. Even as she explores everything else.... dumping them into containers, water bowls, and even the attempt into the toilet. She's a mess, but I love every moment of it... I swear some days I couldn't trade all of this even for the world.

Does your baby have a favorite toy or activity right now? Or are we just cruising around the house into everything?... I know mine is ;)

Em's 7 Month Favorites

I cannot believe Baby E is 7 months old! I know I say this every month, but no matter what I still cannot believe it. The time is surely flying by and soon she'll be a year old. Oh my.

Anyways, Baby E's tastes have stayed somewhat the same regarding toys. She plays with them all equally and now that it's summertime, seems to enjoy the pool more than anything. However, here are a few of her new favorite things that have popped up this month.

Evenflo Jenny Jump Up, Pink Bumbly

Oh! And then there are the dog toys... now that she's scooting around, she's found the dog toys... and sometimes the dogs bring them to her.

Does your 7 month old have any favorite toys? OR do they still enjoy the ones from previous months?

Ours and Em's Teething Favorites

Right now Baby E is teething like crazy. It hasn't been as rough as people have told us; but it's been hard. There again is parenting ever easy? For example, a lot of people kept telling us that she'll be staying up all night, crying all day, never eating, etc. Honestly, we're still sleeping at our normal times and some days we're fussy and others we're not. But hey, who isn't? I know I can be a grump some days.

Anyways, here are some of Baby E's favorite items while we enjoy this momentous time waiting for the arrival of her teeth :).

Baby Orajel Fast Teething Swabs Pain Relief, .06 fl ozMam Mini Cooler & Clip - Blister (2 Months +) Nuby IcyBite Hard/Soft Keys Teether

Sassy Firefly Water-Filled Teethers

Of course, she also enjoys chewing on her fingers and ours, as well as chewing on her bibs, and a washcloth. She's not to keen on the whole frozen washcloth, but she does like to chew on a wet one. So, she mainly gets that at bath time.

What are your babies favorite teething items?

Em's 6 Month Favorites

Baby E has seriously grown up! I cannot believe that she's 7 month's old now, time has seriously flown by. It feels like just yesterday we were in the hospital waiting for our turn for a c-section. Anyways, Baby E still plays quite a bit with her toys from months prior, but these items have started really stick when it comes to play time. We've even ventured into play with items around the home... you know paper (LOVES PAPER), crinkly bags (she's supervised... no worries), the dogs (poor things).... however, here are a few things that she's really started to enjoy.

I think the thing she enjoys the most besides these toys is just being outdoors in her exersaucer. We have one specifically for when we go out and she loves to play in it out in the shade. It just seems to make her day when we're able to go out and play.

Does your 6 month old have any favorite toys or activities? Share below we'd love to hear!

Our Bath Time Favorites - For those First Few Months

When our daughter was born we were not able to give her a traditional bath for several months. For the first couple of months every other night we would give her a sponge bath over the sink. Mostly because she had a cast on one of her legs and it was easier to wash her body avoiding the cast then wrap her up to wash her hair. All over the kitchen sink.

Now, when she finally got her cast off we were able to give her a bath in her baby tub. And of course we made this into a huge bath party. My husband and I went out and bought her a new towel (we didn't have the hooded towels at that point) and a few bath toys.

After everything our little girl ABSOLUTELY loves bath time now and at times we can't even get her out of the tub without a little fuss.

So, with that here are our favorite bath items:

Johnson's Head-to-Toe Baby Wash - 28 oz. Munchkin - Squirtin' Lake Buddies, 10-PackThe First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Tub - Pink Circo® Newborn Girls' Stripes and Hearts Hooded Towel - Pink Circo® Newborn Girls' 3 Pack Wash Cloth and Owl Scrubbie - Pink  Circo® Newborn Girls' 6 Pack Assorted Washcloth Set

We also use the little brush that was given to us from the hospital when we wash her hair and an old cup to rinse her off. We've been looking into a faucet cover since she's become such a mover and always wants to try and stand when we're washing her. I just haven't decided on whether or not I'd like the Munchkin Elephant Spout or the Puj Elephant Spout

Em's 5 Month Favorites

I cannot believe Baby E is 6 month's old, time has seriously flown by! Baby E has seriously grown into something else. Watching her everyday playing with her toys and exploring everything around her has truly been amazing. She's really started getting into the majority of her toys that we gave her around Christmas and some that were given to us at the baby shower.

Looking back here are her favorite toys over the past month.

These are several of her favorite toys as of right now. There are quite a few more. The majority of them she's had for awhile, but is just now getting into them. So if you do see some that have spilled from a month before it's because she's growing into them.

Does your little one have a favorite toy at this age?

Our Nightly Favorites --- For The First Few Months

~*~ I want to address this immediately before anyone blasts me for having a blanket in my daughters bassinet. This was mostly for her at night to support her legs. Right from the get go and I mean at the hospital get go, she was casted and had surgery; this provided us with the opportunity to keep the swelling at the minimum and was OKAY'D by her doctors. ~*~

Alrighty, since hopefully I possibly cleared that up without being fussed at (we were fussed at A LOT by family members); Baby E loved sleeping with a pacifier. This was probably the only thing that calmed her down during those rough nights --- not very many, but the nights that she was swollen we would have a tough time no matter what. This is were her blanket would usually come in... to help support her little legs.

The rest of the time we would swaddle her and rock her. She absolutely loved this. Majority of the time she'd fall asleep and we'd place her in her little bassinet and she'd sleep for the night. Now, back to the rough night's... for those sometimes we'd place her in her swing for part of the time. This also helped us prop her leg completely up.

With that, here are our favorite nightly things during those first few months:

Philips Avent BPA-Free Contemporary Freeflow Pacifier ( 0-6 Months)   Delta Sweet Beginnings Bassinet, White Circo Valboa Big Dottie Blanket
Tiddliwinks Sweet Safari 4pk Receiving Blankets Storkcraft - Bowback Glider Rocker and Ottoman Espresso Finish, Beige Cushions

Em's 3rd and 4th Month Favorites

Here are a few of Baby E's favorite items from her 3rd and 4th months. At that point in time it was really hard to have her play with a lot of items since she was honestly having more fun with her fingers and her shoes/bar. Those were her favorite items at this point, but she did enjoy the items below.

Em's Bed Time Favorites (The Almost One Year Old Version)

Baby E has had a pretty good bed time routine since she was about a month old. The girl LOVES to sleep... she's her daddy to a "T". Within her routine we have several items that we use to comfort her at night especially with her shoes.

At night, we usually give Baby E a bath prior to her bottle and bed. Then after her bath we usually will place a little lotion on her skin... it's so dry in our house and we want to make it absolutely comfortable for her. Hey, who likes having dry skin... I know we don't. Then we place her in her sleep and play and her shoes and it's off to a bottle before bed.

When we're done with her bottle we usually will check her and change her. Giving her lot's of kisses for night time. In her crib is her sleeper which she mostly sleeps in to ensure she's warm but also to ensure that she doesn't hit her self with her shoes ~ she's tried before.

We then turn on everything else. Her elephant humidifier gets turned on, as well as her musical seahorse and light up bear. She absolutely loves each of them and is mesmerized by the seahorse. Thank goodness for Christmas presents!

Her favorite things are listed below:

Fisher Price Soothe & Glow Seahorse - Pink    Pillow Pets Dream Lites - Bear    Crane Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier - Elephant
Johnson's Baby Lotion Original - 9 oz. JUST ONE YOU Made by Carters ® Newborn Girls' Flower Sleepbag - White/Pink Just One You™ by Carter's® Newborn Girls' Sleep N' Play - White/Green

Johnson's Baby LotionJust One You Sleep SackJust One You Sleep & Play

She truly enjoys each of these and they have truly become lifesavers at night. We'll even take the the seahorse and the light up bear with us wherever we go when we know we'll be out late.

Do your little ones have any bedtime favorites? Share them we'd LOVE to know!

Em's 1st and 2nd Month Favorites

Baby E's first few months of life were pretty hard. She had surgery at just a month old and several weekly doctors appointments along with everything in between. Unfortunately, a lot of days she wasn't always up to fully playing but she surely did enjoy the items below.

Looking back these were quite a few of her favorite items during those rough days.
